THE BRAND OF YOU - Social Media Training for Girls

We are pleased to announce a very exciting project we are working on in partnership with East Prince Women's Information Centre, The Western School Board and the Province of Prince Edward IslandInterministerial Women's Secretariat.

During the Fall (School year 2012-2013) we will be running a series of social media workshops through out the Western School Board for Junior High school girls and parents.  The underlying theme is "Using Social Media For Good."

Meanwhile, we all know there are many youth and adults alike that use social media to harm themselves and others - whether it is intentional or a lack of understanding the importance of protecting your digital footprint (your online reputation).

At this point, we are looking for some case studies - some real live examples of how social media has been used for good - and how it was used to harm. Below are the learning objectives. If you have a story to share based on these learning objectives - please email Nancy Beth Guptill, founder & president of Sweet Spot Marketing: nancybeth@sweetspotmarketing.ca

You can also post your stories to our facebook wall:  http://www.facebook.com/sweetmarketing

 Learning Objectives:
• Use the Internet and Social Media for Good
• Find Your Voice & Be a Positive Influence
• Create Positive Profiles, Relationships & Digital Footprints
• Protect Your Identity & Online Image
• Protect Against Risks: Predators, Bullies, Identity Theft, Social Media Depression
• Tips, Advice, Best Practices
• Careers in Digital Technology & Social Media

NOTE: This project is made possible with the support of the Province of Prince Edward Island - Interministerial Women's Secretariat.

Special Request:  Please help us to spread the news  of using Social Media for Good by sharing this blog post with your friends, family and co-workers. Please encourage anyone you know that has a good news (or bad news) story on how social media impacted and changed their lives to share their experience with us.  Please keep in mind the intended audience is Junior High School Girls and their parents.

Please post stories to our facebook wall:   www.facebook.com/sweetmarketing
